The extraordinary service we achieve at CODE salon is accomplished through the unique method we have developed for matching each of our guests with an artist who truly understands their vision. We get to know our guests through an image planning consultation designed to help us understand their lifestyle, physicality, and aesthetic preferences.

At CODE salon, we focus on artistry and empower each employee to be an educator. Our salon provides one of the strongest training programs in the industry. New talent who join CODE go through a 10 month intensive training program where they collaborate with and are mentored by an exceptionally strong professional team. For our guests, our training program means the best $45 haircut in the Bay Area.

Beyond the traditional list of salon services, CODE aspires to be an exciting cultural and social resource. We host artist spotlight nights in which the community is invited to enjoy the work of local musicians, painters, photographers and other talent. Celena Andrews, Master Stylist, Style Educator
Celena Andrews has dedicated herself to the salon industry for over eight years. She has worked as a cutting and style specialist at successful salons throughout the Bay Area. Professionally, Celena excels at interpersonal connections. She has an ability to understand what's most important to the guest and meet their esthetic needs. Celena has received continual advanced training with Aveda and has practiced with salon icon, Ruth Roche-NYC. She is certified in the Keratin Smoothing Treatment and is recognized for her knowledge with texture. Celena finds inspiration from cinema, music and art and is committed to staying on trend in the styling and fashion world.

Susie Carlson, Master Stylist, Style Educator
Susie Carlson has twelve years of experience as an artist in the salon industry and specializes in hair cutting and styling. She completed her education at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 1999 and has continued to thrive in the salon industry with a passion for creativity and fashion. Susie has received ongoing and extensive advanced training including the Aveda Academy in London. She has accumulated invaluable knowledge practicing with artists at Toni & Guy Academy and with industry icons, Antoinette Benders, Ruth Roche-NYC and Vivian Mackinder. Susie is recognized for her diverse technical expertise, special event styling and ability to create transformations for her guests. She is inspired by street trends, couture fashion and the avante garde.

Kirstin Cunningham, Senior Colorist
Kirstin Cunningham has seven years of experience in the salon industry and specializes in hair color. She has spent the last 3 years dedicated to education in the beauty industry and has returned to the salon to share her knowledge and passion. She has the natural ability to uncover and enhance what is unique about an individual's style and coloring and create the perfect image. She is recognized for hairdressing, creativity, guest relations and strong technical ability. Kirstin has had advanced training with Aveda, Paul Mitchell Systems, Bumble and Bumble, Goldwell, Wella, and Ruth Roche-NYC. She finds much of her inspiration from vintage fashion, music, and the beauty found in nature.

Marianne Donovan, Reservations and Guest Relations
From a very young age, Marianne Donovan has had a strong passion and interest in beauty and fashion. Marianne earned at degree in Journalism and Graphic Design at Humboldt State University. While attending college she managed a full-service salon overseeing the team of artists schedules, reservations and the retail department. She has sales experience with Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchell Systems and L'Oreal Professional. After attending college Marianne entered the corporate world at a sports hospitality and marketing firm and eventually returned to the salon industry, joining the talent at CODE salon. Marianne is inspired by her friends, people watching, pop culture and travel.

Louise Frost, Style Director, Master Stylist, Lead Style Educator
A highly accomplished artist in the salon industry, Louise Frost has over twelve years of experience. She is recognized for her technical and artistic expertise, established clientele and her ability to lead, mentor and educate the salon professional. Louise has experience assisting leading industry artists for platform and fashion work. She has completed highly advanced training programs such as Toni & Guy Long Beach Academy, Vidal Sassoon San Francisco, Rodney Cutler New York City, Vivian Mackinder, Aveda Advanced Academy, Ruth Roche-NYC and San Rizz Longueras-Spain. Lousie leads the CODE salon training program and develops technically superior salon talent.

Dustin Machado, Color Director, Master Colorist, Lead Color Educator
Dustin Machado has ten years of extensive experience in the salon industry and is praised for his overall professionalism, artistic and technical expertise and strong client base. Machado is a highly sought-after hairstylist for events throughout the Bay Area, including fashion shows, photo shoots, wedding parties and video production. He has completed advanced training with Aveda, L'Oreal, Vivienne Mackinder, Paul Mitchell Systems and Toni & Guy Academy. Dustin leads CODE's Color training program and produces technically superior salon talent.

Amanda Poe, Brow Architect, Makeup Artist, Senior Esthetician
Amanda Poe comes to CODE salon with a background in art and education. She was trained at The San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology. She returned a year later to become the Institutes' Waxing Specialist and Lead Educator where she trained and inspired future salon industry professionals. While she is highly experienced an all areas of esthetics, she is most passionate with the artistry of brow architecture and is rewarded a strong clientbase. Amanda is an incredible makeup artist and experienced in editorial, bridal and commercial techniques.

She has trained with Dermalogica, Jurlique, Eminence Organics, Ole Hendrickson, Skin Cuticles and Repechage. She has received advanced training with Aveda and advanced massage training at the Thai School of Massage in Chang Mai, Thailand. Amanda is continually inspired by art, nature and fashion of all kinds.

John Skinner, Master Colorist
John Skinner is a highly evolved artist with 20 years of salon industry experience. He was trained by Toni & Guy where he helped open new salon locations in the Southwest US, and helped in fine tuning and delivering the specialized Color Education Program and held a place on their National Art Team. Touring with that team he was able hone and fine tune both his coloring and teaching skills as a platform artist at major industry shows. He helped launch products for L'Oreal Professionelle in both Canada and the US and has worked the runways in NYC and LA Fashion Week for Aveda under the direction of such hair luminaries as Odile Gilbert, Ted Gibson and Eugene Souleman. John's inspiration comes from the avant-garde, fashion's haute couture and contemporary Art. He brings the creativity, sophistication and trend forward hair color techniques and styling from the world of high fashion to the salon experience. John has assisted and trained with the internationally acclaimed artists such as David Adams,Derrick Scurry, Miho of Twiggy Salon in Tokyo, Luc Espace, Australia, Ana Karzis, Canada and Toni & Guy luminaries like Antony Mascolo, Sascha Mascolo-Tarbuck and Rowena Cuttruzola.

Cheryl Snodgrass, Founder, Managing Director
Cheryl Snodgrass, with 15 years of professional beauty industry experience holds a highly respected reputation in the field. While with the Aveda Corporation, she worked directly with famed founder Horst Rechelbacher and the company's team of industry pioneers. Cheryl acquired invaluable knowledge while at Aveda where she was on the launching team for Aveda International and gained success in brand development for retail and manufacturing. Cheryl has led and developed many high performance salons throughout her career. Prior to founding CODE salon, she spent years as a salon industry consultant working nationwide with a broad range of clients including salonspas, cosmetology schools, artistic directors and education departments. Cheryl is recognized for her ability to lead and cultivate highly productive, dynamic, and integrity-based business models.

Introducing the New Talent team

A group of artists who are in the developmental stage of their careers at CODE salon. The New Talent team is in the final phase of our intensive training program and executes high quality hair services and guest experiences. Many came to CODE with previous salon experience and all earn the compliment of being among the most talented in the industry.

Lauren Burda, New Talent Stylist
Lauren has 3 years of salon industry experience and is currently on the New Talent team at CODE as a Cutting Specialist. She has a wide range of technical skill and is most inspired with long layered creative styles, woman's short shapes, classic shapes with a modern interpretation, special event styling and editorial projects. She has a diverse clientele and is passionate about the guest connection and translating each unique personality into style and image. She is a graduate of the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology and has worked in salons in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Alisa Coppel, New Talent Stylist
Alisa is on the New Talent team at CODE salon and has 2 years of experience in the professional salon industry as a Cutting Specialist, though her passion for cutting hair began as a child. Her creative approach to cutting and styling hair has evolved from a strong background and education in the arts, with an emphasis on sculpture. Alisa is inspired by working with both men and women creating classic and creative short shapes, as well as elegant and edgy layered cuts. Alisa has received advanced education with Ruth Roche, George Morales, and Doug Christiansen. She is a native to California, has lived in Santa Cruz and Ukiah, and now enjoys the diversity of San Francisco. Alisa is inspired by sculpture, painting and nature.

Courtney Day, New Talent Colorist
Coutney is on the New Talent team at CODE salon, specializing in Aveda haircolor. She is recognized for her compassion, attention to detail and dedication to the salon industry. Courtney has a diverse style that embraces edge, sophistication and the classics. She enjoys special event styling, editorial, runway and weddings. She graduated from The San Francsico Institue of Esthetics and Cosmetology with advanced training from Winn Claybaugh, George Morales, Debora Dietrich, and Ruth Roche. Courtney is from Ukiah, CA and is inspired by nature, music, individuality and art. Her goal is to become an educator and platform artist.

Yuliya Hunsaker, New Talent Stylist
Yuliya is a Cutting Specialist on the New Talent team at CODE salon. She moved from Russia 5 years ago spending time on the east coast in retail sales, where she realized her dream of becoming an artist in the salon industry in San Francisco. Yuliya enjoys the intensive training program at CODE and executes innovative techniques and trend savy styles in hair artisty. Her vision, attention to detail and dedication to image and lifestyle appropriateness create a stong connection with her guests. Yuliya graduated from the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology and she has received advanced training from Ruth Roche, Kelly Cardenas and other platform artists.

Jade McCauley, New Talent Colorist
Jade is an excellent contribution to the New Talent team at CODE salon, she is recognized for her creativity, strong technical execution, guest relations and professionalism. While new to the salon network as a Colorist, she has 4 years of experience in the beauty industry. Jade worked in reservations for the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology and because of outstanding performance was awarded the first scholarship ever granted in cosmetology. She has received performance-based awards, enjoys working on fashion shows and photo shoots and has taken advanced training from some of the industries most talented. Jade is inspired by the city she lives in and vintage style.

Kristen Matlack, New Talent Colorist
Kristen brings 3 years of salon industry experience in San Francisco and is on the New Talent team at CODE as a Color Specialist. She has a natural eye for color and an extensive artistic background, and she is passionate about creating a customized color for each guest. Kristen is recognized for technical skill with color corrections, current trends and the classics. She has received advanced training with Aveda, Goldwell and Paul Mitchell Systems. Prior to being a licensed cosmetologist, Kristen graduated with a degree in Fine Arts majoring in Textile Design. She is inspired by movies, music and fashion.

Yao Saelee, New Talent Stylist
Yao is on the New Talent team at CODE salon as a Cutting Specialist and brings 4 years of experience in the salon and barbering industry. He began his career as a barber specializing in men's classic haircutting and straight razor shaving and currently holds a dual license in barbering and cosmetology. He is passionate about collaborating with his guest to define a personalized style custom to the individual. He is known for his diverse technical skill and excels at long layers, feminine short shapes, trend forward men's haircuts and both precision and texturized styles. Yao is inspired by creative expression, guest relations, street culture and fashion, as well as the natural beauty of everyday life. Yao Saelee graduated from the San Francsico Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology
